On behalf of the iLEAPS Scientific Steering Committee, we have the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the iLEAPS Science Conference and iLEAPS Early Career Scientist Workshop.

The Melbourne iLEAPS Science Conference will follow the path set by the previous science conference, which took place in 2006 in Boulder, Colorado, and the 2003 planning conference in Helsinki, Finland.

The iLEAPS Science Conference is organized parallel at the same venue (Hotel Sofitel in Melbourne) with GEWEX International Scientific Conference. The parallel conferences have three joint sessions, social events, and early career scientist program from 24 August to 28 August. More information is available also at the parallel conferences website. Abstract submission and registration to the parallel iLEAPS and GEWEX conferences is through the parallel  conferences' website at   http://gewex.org/2009gewex_ileaps_conf.html.

The Early Career Scientist Workshop (ECSW) organized by iLEAPS  and GEWEX, takes place in front of the Parallel Science Conferences, 20-22 August 2009. The sessions cross various disciplines and include training. Abstract submission and registration to this event is through the ECS Workshop website http://www.ileaps.org/multisites/ecsw/. We are planning an exciting programme to the iLEAPS Science Conference, the joint sessions with GEWEX and the iLEAPS Early Career Scientist Workshop, bringing together a variety of research communities. We look forward to seeing you in Melbourne!
