“Synthesis and Integration of Land-Use induced Land-Cover Changes (LULCC) impacts on the functioning of the Earth System” is one of IGBP 2nd synthesis topics "Planet Under Pressure: Knowledge and Solutions".

Land use and land cover change (LULCC) are key elements in global change research. LULCC research planned here will help the development of a fundamental understanding of its interactions with the human, biogeochemical, and biogeophysical dynamics, and its impacts on regional and the planetary climate system. This initiative aims to synthesize existing research, support and make clear coordinated efforts that have recently started, and initiate new ones to provide a roadmap for future efforts.

LULCC Kick-Off Meeting
The meeting is organised 21 September 2011, in connection with the iLEAPS Science Conference (18-23 September 2011) in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
